FAQs

The Diploma is a level 4 qualification (gold, 16 weeks). The Certificate is a Level 3 qualification (silver, 8 weeks). The Award is a level 2 qualification (bronze, 3 weeks).

No prior experience is needed to begin this course, as the syllabus is progressive to include induction, foundation elements and 1-2-1 coaching.

Modules such as Foundation Skills, Intermediate Skills and Advanced Skills can be taken at anytime by anyone e.g. it may be that you have some experience already and therefore enrol on Intermediate Skills to improve techniques – you’re not seeking a qualification simply to gain inspirational skills.

Alternatively, your sights may be set on a culinary qualification such as level 4 Diploma, but can’t afford the time away from work or family. In this instance it may be possible to approach the in-person training in smaller blocks of training by spreading the training out. Please contact the office to discuss your requirements.

Yes absolutely! Our cohorts normally include a roughly equal distribution of enthusiasts, aspiring and also existing chefs who are all looking to develop their professional skills for very different reasons including; personal development/satisfaction, skills towards a long lasting professional career.

We have a wide range of ages and backgrounds on our courses. We generally have students in each decade (20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s). This dynamic community makes for a creative and energetic learning environment.

Yes, we offer a handful of bursaries each year to UK nationals who can prove the inability to afford of tuition fees. Scholarships are forged with hospitality employers who can subsidise tuition fees in order to retain employment of students once graduated.

Job prospects are excellent having graduated. You’ll have an opportunity to engage with a carefully selected employer during Level 4 Diploma training via a work placement. Career and alumni support is available throughout our courses.

Uniform including chef whites and aprons are included in your course fees.  You’ll be allocated a kitchen station where you’ll find all the equipment needed. Enrolees are required to purchase a set of professionally recommended WhitePepper chef knives ahead of their first day.

If you are able to keep this to a minimum we would recommend that, as the training is busy and intensive and you maybe tired. However, many of our students do take on part-time work whilst at WhitePepper.

We always recommend appropriate footwear (good grips, light, padded). A good selection of tupperware too.
