Katy recently finished school and wanted to learn culinary life skills before embarking on a University degree. She is a graduate of the 3 week Certificate in Culinary Skills course (September 2016). Here she tells us about her experience…
Tell us about your background and reasons for choosing the course
I’ve just finished school and am due to start a Geography Degree in September. I have always loved cooking and wanted to gain better life skills before I head off to University. I thought the course gave a good grounding in all-round culinary skills and would focus on areas I’m not confident at, like meat and fish.
What were your reasons for choosing White Pepper?
I did lots of research online and thought the White Pepper course looked comprehensive and the school had won lots of awards. The course was a good length and the course dates worked out perfectly before I started University. The location was great too, located in the Dorset countryside.
What skills do you feel have developed?
All of my skills have improved and it’s given me a good base for cooking with more confidence.
What have you enjoyed most about the course?
Everything! The location, the teaching style and the amount of new skills I’ve learnt!
