Bidwell is starting a food career and having gained some kitchen experience, was inspired to book onto the course. He is a graduate of the 3 week Certificate in Culinary Skills course (September 2016). Here he tells us about his experience…
Tell us about your background and reasons for choosing the course
I’ve been working for Riverford Farm Shop Cafe cooking breakfasts and helping in the kitchen. It’s been good experience, but I’m moving to London in October and would like to get a more professional kitchen job. I was looking for a course that would give me a qualification as I want to become a chef one day.
What were your reasons for choosing White Pepper?
The school had an excellent reputation and I needed to do a course that would push me. It looked comprehensive so I booked.
What skills do you feel have developed?
I’m much more aware of time management, and the importance of staying organised. Also, just knowing how and why things are done in certain ways.
What have you enjoyed most about the course?
The cooking! Also, the group has been nice and the kitchen environment was very professional. I’ve learnt hundreds of new skills and loved the atmosphere of the place.
