Discover artisan techniques of bread making using the simplest of ingredients.

Explore the science behind working with yeast and the different varieties of flour in the making of a variety of breads.

Skills Covered:

  • Working with yeast
  • Correct kneading technique
  • Proving
  • Flavouring

Typical recipes covered:

  • Granary dinner rolls
  • Bacon and nut batch loaf
  • Hot Cross Buns

Our hands-on cookery courses generally include a cookery demonstration, a recipe pack, refreshments and/or a light meal. There are often goodies to be taken home too. We welcome those of all abilities.

We work towards an 85% practical input on behalf of the student, making ‘learning through doing’ very effective.
