The contemporary refurbishment from what was originally a bakery offers students a spacious kitchen with demonstration theatre, sporting the latest Rangemaster ovens and a commercial bread oven.
White Pepper Cookery School has arguably one of the most comprehensive portfolios of cookery courses and food experiences in the UK – offering a huge group of inspirational courses from beginner to advanced.
The style of teaching is dynamic, informative and engaging yet relaxed and informal. Learning is enhanced by an onsite ‘Food Safari’ and a guaranteed 75% hands on experience across all courses.
There is a very strong affiliation with local producers, schools, youth groups and charities.
The cookery school hosts the semi finals of Dorset’s ‘Yes Chef’ competition and also helps judge the finals.

Teruko is a Japanese chef who has been living in Dorset for over 20 years, seeking out the best local ingredients in order to create contemporary Anglo-Japanese recipes. Her passion is to introduce the cultural aspects of this cuisine as well as sharing its exotic flavours and visual beauty.

Author of First Preserves and a competition judge, Vivien is an advocate of traditional preserve making. As a champion of many competitions including the Marmalade Awards and Fortnum and Mason’s Chutney Challenge,Vivien will be sharing her recipes and methods for marmalades, chutneys and fruit curd.
Claire Alexander-Brown, Guest Chef
The Deputy Director of Studies at Tante Marie Culinary Academy with 15 years experience as a teacher. The academy, now part owned by Gordon Ramsay, is one of the UK’s largest and highly regarded cookery schools with an international reputation.
