Ross ramps up his chef career

WhitePepper graduate Ross Ogilvie has taken his career to the next level, progressing from a pub to a 3 Star Michelin Restaurant in Spain.

Ross has gained much experience learning on the job but in order to progress his career, a professional qualification was the next logical step.

Concise course

Ross was considering 6-9 month diplomas but decided the 4 week course at WhitePepper would better suit him, as he wouldn’t have to take so much time out of work. Ross already had a Level 2 NVQ in Food Production, and was experienced in costing menus and recipe planning. He wanted to boost his knowledge in key areas such as bread and baking, and gain professional culinary skills. Ross knew it would add to his CV and help him secure future roles as a chef.

Career progression, fast

After graduating from the course, Ross started in a role working at the Martin Bersategui restaurant in Spain and felt much more confident starting the new job. As an ambitious chef in his twenties, Ross was pleased he invested in training, and the international qualification has provided a stepping stone to the next level in his career.
